Trapped in a relationship
A military wife came to the office with a female friend – she was crying and so embarrassed that she could barely speak above a whisper.
After her husband brought her to the US, he refused to allow her to get a driver’s license or to go outside of the home to get a job. Her husband did not want her to leave the house until he got home from work.
I helped her get in contact with Tessa (a local women’s support group); they helped her complete the paperwork to get her driver’s license.
I assisted her through all the steps of the court system- divorce and maintenance.
She is now in an apartment shared with her child and has a part time job. She is now able to experience true American freedom.
